A video of a samurdhi controller in Ragama carrying a prank on innocent people is circulating on social network.
The government has decided to grant an allowance of Rs. 10,000 through the Samurdhi Department to low income families who have been rendered helpless due to the corona situation and curfew in the country.
However, the video shows a Samurdhi officer in Ragama threatening a family who had come with her husband to find out about the benefits.
According to our inquiry, the official is also a cousin of a UNP MP.
