Gotabhaya Rajapakse, Former Secretary to the Defense Ministry
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa made the announcement at the National Convention of the Peoples Alliance (PA) at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo on Sunday (August 11).
The leadership of the Sri Lanka Peoples Alliance was also handed over to the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Addressing the gathering, the former president nominated his brother, former defense secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, to run for president of the Sri Lanka Peoples Alliance (UPFA).
